Let us be absolutely clear: Scan4U DOES NOT save, store, backup, or index your files. We do not keep copies of your PDFs, Images, or Signatures on our servers. Your documents belong exclusively to you. Every file processed on our platform is either handled entirely inside your device's memory (Client-Side) or is instantly and permanently eradicated from our secure server RAM the millisecond your task is completed.

Welcome to Scan4U (accessible via our website at scan4u.in and our Mobile Application on the Google Play Store). We have built our reputation on providing premium document utility tools with an uncompromising approach to user privacy.

2. Tool-by-Tool Data Handling (How We Process Your Files)

Tools Included: PDF Split, PDF Rotate, Delete PDF Pages, Reorder PDF, Merge PDF, PDF to Image, Image to PDF, Sign PDF (Draw/Upload Signature).

How it works: These tools utilize advanced JavaScript and WebAssembly (such as `pdf-lib` and `pdf.js`) to process your files directly inside your web browser or mobile app memory. Your file never leaves your computer/phone. It is never uploaded to our servers via the internet. Because the file is processed locally, we have zero access to it.

B. Secure Server-Side Tools

Tools Included: Protect PDF (Add Password), Unlock PDF, Compress PDF, PDF Editor (Text Replacement via API), Word to PDF.

How it works: These tools require heavy computing power or specialized software libraries (like `TCPDF`). When you use these tools, your file is transmitted to our secure server using military-grade 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption. The file is processed in Volatile Memory (RAM). The absolute second the processing is finished and the output file is sent back to your browser for download, the file is instantly and permanently deleted from our server. No backups, no logs, no traces are left behind.

3. Information We DO NOT Collect

We believe that you shouldn't have to surrender your personal identity just to edit a document. Therefore:

No Accounts Required: We do not ask you to register, create an account, or log in.
No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect your name, physical address, phone number, or date of birth.
No Document Data Extraction: We do not use OCR or text-mining software to read, analyze, or extract text/data from the documents you process.
No Password Logging: When you use our "Protect PDF" or "Unlock PDF" tools, the passwords you enter are strictly used for that single transaction and are never saved or logged in any database.

4. Information We DO Collect (Analytics & App Health)

To keep our website and mobile app running smoothly, free of bugs, and financially sustained via advertisements, we collect basic, non-personally identifiable technical data:

Website Log Files: Standard server logs that capture IP addresses, browser types, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and time stamps. This data is purely for analyzing server load and preventing DDoS attacks.
